Belgium is boring.
So some people say. Somewhere to pass through as quickly as possible whilst on your way somewhere else. Or so the cliche goes.
If you’re visiting Europe, it’s quite likely you’re planning a trip through Belgium at some stage.
At last I’ve got round to writing an article about Antwerp, my home town in Belgium.
If you haven’t yet been to Antwerp, I’d recommend a visit. Antwerp is the second biggest city in Belgium after Brussels.
Antwerp – Antwerpen in Dutch, Anvers in French, is Belgium’s second city and it’s well worth a visit.
It’s located in the far north of the country, not far from the border with the Netherlands and has a population of just under half a million.
Antwerp is a port city, despite being located some 70 kilometres or so inland from the North Sea on the River Schelde.
